Privacy Policy
How SA Baby collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information, and the choices and rights you have.
This policy explains what SA Baby does with your information. It is written by us, in plain language, and it applies to sa.baby and every page on it.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter, and anything you type into a contact or comment form (name, email, message).
- Information collected automatically. Standard server and analytics data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and time on page.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files used to remember preferences (for example dark mode), measure traffic and, where enabled, serve advertising. See our Cookie Policy.
What our calculators do not collect
Every calculator and generator on this site runs in your browser. Due dates, cycle dates, weights, heights and feeding details are processed on your device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
How we use information
To deliver and improve the site; to send the newsletter you asked for; to answer your messages; to understand which articles help readers and which do not; to protect the site against spam and abuse; and to serve advertising that keeps the site free.
Legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (newsletter, non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (site security, aggregate analytics, preventing abuse) and legal obligation (record keeping where required).
Advertising and third parties
We use third-party advertising partners, which may include Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies is described in Google’s own policies, and you can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google Ads Settings. We also use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits. We never sell your personal information.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising), and only as far as needed for those tasks. We may disclose information if legally required, or to protect the rights and safety of readers.
Retention
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months. Aggregate analytics are retained in non-identifying form.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email privacy@sa.baby and we will respond within 30 days. Every newsletter also has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Children
SA Baby is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, restrict administrative access, keep software patched and store subscriber data in an access-controlled database. No website can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and we will notify affected readers promptly if a breach ever affects their data.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date on this page and, for significant changes, tell newsletter subscribers directly.
